My child is very young, is it too early for an assessment?
No. In fact, earlier is better. The brain is most responsive to language and developmental intervention in the first five years of life. If you have a concern, even at 12 or 18 months, bring it to us.
What if you find nothing wrong? Was the assessment a waste?
Not at all. Reassurance from a qualified professional based on an actual evaluation is worth far more than the worry you would otherwise carry for months. Many parents leave relieved. That is a good outcome.
Do I need to bring anything to the assessment?
Bring your child, yourself, and your questions. If your child has had any previous assessments, reports, or diagnoses, bring those too. We will ask about your child's history, so the more you remember, the better.
Will my child need to cooperate for the assessment to work?
Our therapist is experienced with children who do not cooperate, do not sit still, or are non-verbal. The assessment is designed to work with how your child actually behaves — not how you wish they would.
Does the assessment fee go towards my therapy program?
The assessment fee is a separate, one-time fee for the evaluation session itself. It does not apply toward your term enrollment. Think of it as the fee for professional expertise and time, the same way you would pay a specialist for a consultation.
What happens after the assessment?
You receive a professional recommendation. If a CVT program is the right fit, we will tell you which one and why. If a different specialist or approach is better suited, we will tell you that too. You leave knowing the next step.
Can I book the assessment if I am outside Port Harcourt?
Our in-person assessment is for families in Port Harcourt. However, we do offer a remote Parent Intervention Program (PIP) for families outside Nigeria or those who cannot attend in person. Learn more about PIP →
